adding/deleting cells in a named range of cells

Once you have named nonadjacent range of cells and used a
formula to calculate that range how can you add additional
rows to be included without having to delete the name and
select the cells again?

Perhaps there is a better way of doing what I'd like to
do. All the columns I use(@5 columns) have about 40
subtotals (there are @120 rows) I have selected the
subtotals and named them in order to use the sum function
to add only the subtotals. This works fine until I have to
insert and add additional row(s) which will also have a
subtotal. I would like to include the new subtotal line(s)
but don't know how to change the selection in the Named
range that was previously created. (Note: the subtotals
cannot be placed in another column. They must remain
underneath the data that is being subtotalled)

As long as you don't delete the top or bottom row or add below the bottom
row you should be ok. So, you can put in a dummy row at the bottom. There
are other ways to do this with defined names that count the rows and macros
to put the formula at the bottom. You might also consider putting the
formula at the top.

I can insert lines fine but the new subtotal line isn't
included in the Named range and that's the part I'm having
problem with. Any suggestions?
