adding computer

Am on sbc broadband and use aol as email. My daughter has come into town
with her computer to be used downstairs for only four weeks. Do not want to
spend the money or effort on a wired or wireless network for that short a
time.
Can she JUST plug into a phone jack and get either broadband as my guest or
dialup with aol or another carrier with no costs involved?...or without doing
something destructive to my present setup?

SBC uses a specific modem for the connection (she needs to go thru it),then
SBC mandates all the yahoo software + aol also i believe must be
installed.Once
the 2 or 3 areas are met & the software installed to her pc,it would work
fine..
