Adding Computer to Domain

S

Shirley Meeks

After reinstalling Win2K and recreating my only domain
controller, I am receiving the following error when I try
adding a computer to my new domain.

Error:
Your computer could not be joined to the domain because
the following error occurred: The credentials supplied
conflict with an existing set of credentials.

I am using the Administrator account.

Any ideas?

Hello Shirley,

Thank you for your post.

The error you are receiving occurs when the system is caching credentials
to another machine on the domain that you are attempting to join. It will
happen if the system is mapped to a network drive to a machine out on the
domain. I recommend to open a command prompt and type "Net Use * /Delete"
to remove the current mappings before attempting to join the domain.

For information on this error please review the following knowledge base
