Adding calculated time and input times

I have created a formula that multiplies the number of
times someone does a task by a timing (i.e 5 widgets @
10mins each = 50 mins)and then converts this to a correct
time (i.e./24/60)
I am now trying to add to this total a further time value
(i.e.2 hours 30 mins) but for some reason the cell keeps
converting the 2.30 to 07.12.

Can anyone help

I have now managed to sort this by reading through some
previous posts - I wasn't putting the colon in when
inputting a time !!!!
