Hi,
I've used custom animation to animate an image/ text and want to apply a
sound as an effect from the Microsoft gallery of sounds. I know to access
"effect options" , Effects tab and "sound" from the enhancements section in
order to apply sounds. I've selected "other sounds" but don't get the
microsoft gallery which comes up if you were to go to moves and sounds on the
insert menu. Can anyone advise me on how to get round this? I'm working in
Powerpoint 2002 and 2003.
Thanks for your time,
Suzanne

I don't think there's a way around that. The Insert | Movies and Sounds menu
gives you "from clip gallery" options. (I assume that's what you're talking
about when you mentioned "gallery.")

You can only add WAVs to animations (which is what you're doing when yoiu
add them in Effect Options).

I'd use the clip gallery to search for sounds (just hit Ctrl+F1 to open the
task pane, then click Clip Art from the dropdown at the top of the task pane
to open the appropriate pane, then change the "results should be" to Sounds
only and WAV only). Then input keywords and run the search. You can
right-click the sounds in the task pane and choose Properties to get the
file path. Then you'll know where to navigate to in the Effect Options
dialog.

Thank you! I'll give it a go!
