adding a reference path manually

I would like to add a reference to my project manually. Is there somewhere
in the IDE where I can see and modify all of this project's references?

I would like to see all the directories the compiler goes through when
looking for files.

Right click on the Solution Explorer's References entry and browse to your DLL.
