Hi,

Is it possible to get a font that is available in Word 2007 (autograph) to
use in Word 2002. As it is a Microsoft font, I would have thought I could
download it free from their site, but I can't find it anyway. I can't even
find it online to download for a fee (not that I would pay for it). The only
way I can think of is to upgrade to Office 2007.

Thanks in anticipation,

Jo

You're mistaken. Autograph is not a Microsoft font and it doesn't come with
Office 2007. If you saw it on a computer that has Office 2007, it came from
somewhere else.

It's a commercial font from the Elsner & Flake foundry, so if you won't pay
for it, you can't get it legally. Searching Google with the terms "autograph
font download" returned over 20,000 citations. Among them are
http://www.fontshop.com/fonts/downloads/elsner_flake/autograph_script_2/ and
http://www.fonthaus.com/products/fonts/list_fontfamily.cfm/family/Autograph_Script/.

Many thanks, I will give your link a go Suzanne. Jay - thanks for your help
too but we all have Office 2007 on our PC's at work and Autograph is one of
the fonts that came with it (we definitely haven't all downloaded it from the
web). When I searched google for the Autograph font, it did find loads but
none were the same as the Office one.

Thanks again,

Jo

The fact that http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/ doesn't list
Autograph is not definitive, since that list has not been updated with the
new C fonts that come with Office 2007, but I think Jay is right that it
isn't included (I don't have it, for example, and I did a full install of
Office 2007); I think all the Office 2007 fonts begin with C.

I would imagine, though, that if all your PCs have the same software, then
they all also have whatever software this font came with. Nowadays
practically everything you install comes with fonts. Printer software is a
good bet.

Hi Jo,

This MS article lists the fonts that are included with the 2007 Office System. Many of them are available only when MS Office
Publisher is installed.
