I want to add a custom color in word 2003 and 2007 – AND HAVE IT REMAIN AS A
PRESET.

If I go in and set RBG values, is there a way for this to become permanently
set it the word pre set pallet for either or both 03 and 07?

For instance … I want to add my corporate color as a standard pre-set once I
have defined it and have it appear on every new document.

Can this be done?

I understand a macro can be written to do this … but I have no idea how to
do that

No, there is no way to store a custom color "as a preset". But you can
include the color in a paragraph style or a character style and apply
it whenever you want. This is true of both font colors and shading
colors -- you didn't say which you want.
