I have had a problem with XP from the beginning with SP-1 and now more so
with SP-2. When I dbl click add remove programs, in control panel, I get
three to five programs that start with 'A' and then a blank space down page,
then the rest of my programs. The blank space is very long (10 rolls of the
wheel). How might I remove this gap so the all listed programs are together?

Try refreshing the Window by choosing another order, such as by Frequency
Used or last date.

I tryed to refresh by the metood you suggested and then see all programs,
but only in the frequency pane

I have the same issue, i.e. the white space in Add Remove after upgrading to
SP2. The suggested fix at KellysKorner does not work. That fix is for
whitespace that occurs after an Autocad install. No one seems to have a
solution to this problem as yet.

What is the last program listed and then the first after the great amounts
of white space. This has to do with a - (negative) numbered icon used for
the program involved.

SUCCESS. Thanks Kelly. I searched each entry in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
until I found the program that had a negative value in DisplayIcon. In my
case it was a password recovery program that had -1 which I changed to 1. The
icon in Add Remove changed but the whitespace has disappeared.
Thanks
