I have a couple of programs that show up in my Control Panel/Add-Remove
Programs list that I deleted the file folders for and the "Remove" button
can't access or find the 'uninstall.exe' file needed becuase it's already
gone. As the programs no longer exist on the computer how can I remove them
from the list in the Add/Remove Programs box?

well if you simply deleted the file folders you didnt uninstall correctly,
leaving files and registry entries scattered about your sys.
Reinstal, then use add/remove or any app.specific uninstaller to remove
them.
If you did all this try the win.installer clean up utility, available on ms
site

You can remove the invalid items via the Registry.

The procedure can be found on page A of this link:

Scroll down to:
Add and Remove -Removing Invalid Entries in the Add/Remove Programs Tool

Hi

Reinstall, then uninstall. Deleting folders won't help very much.
