add remove programs has large blank areas

i have windows xp professional and when i go to control
panel to add/remove programs i see only a few programs.
when i scroll down to the very bottom i find the rest of
the programs installed on my pc. there is one small
group of programs in the middle and more blank spaces.
does anyone know how to get rid of this so i can see all
of the programs installed all together. my computer is
working just fine. it is just very annoying when you
want to remove or change a program.

I'm sorry, but you're going to have to do a little bit of the work
yourself. Look on Kelly's site for something having to do with Add
Remove Programs or Control Panel problems. Use your imagination. If you
expend a little effort, you'll find what you need.

Kelly posts here often, and many others recommend "tweeks" and fixes
from her site, so you are probably safe in assuming that her files are
safe to download and use, but you are correct to ask. See the note at
the top of Kelly's "tweeks" page regarding any anti-virus program you
may be running.

As for which to use, one of the great things about computers is that
they can do the looking for you with the "find" command. In this case,
the file you want is called "Remove the White Space from Add or Remove"
in line 226. This is a zip file. If you intend to use it, download and
save in a location that you remember, unzip to get both files contained
in the zip file, then double-click on the file with the vbs extension.

Finally, however, when I loooked at the script that's in that file, it
appears to be designed to remove the white space from Add/Remove IF that
white space was created by an installation of Autocad. If the white
space in your Add/Remove is associated with a different entry, Kelly's
script may or may not fix it. Because this problem is only cosmetic, if
I were you, I'd leave it alone.
