I was going to remove an application and noticed that there is a very large
blank area in the listing. Any suggestions as to what might be causeing
this???

Follow the info provided here:

This is generally due to the DisplayIcon having a negative number. From
here you can either remove the negative number or remove the last
application listed: Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{}

Kelly,

I looked at the location that you suggested, but there was no entry for {}.
I did search the complete listing for any instance of the DisplayIcon having
a negative number and there were none. Any other suggestiongs???

Look at the Uninstall list at that registry location and compare it to
the alphabetical listing in Add/Remove.

Once you figure out what program is missing from the list, look at its
listing in the Uninstall list. What to do with it.. delete the listing,
or use the program's Uninstall from its Start Menu folder or the folder
where it's stored. After removing it, reinstall, if you want it.

I was searching on google and did find a hint that suggested using x-setup
and did finad an application in that listing that was not in the add/remove
listing. Uninstalled it and everything is back to normal.
Thanks.
