Hi Joe,

For the white space, look under "A" here:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm

To remove errant entries in msconfig, look in these keys of the system
registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg

Can't tell you much about the alloymail.com site, I don't use it. I would
check to see if there is a HOSTS entry under
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc, and also check that you can access other
secure sites. If you cannot, follow the steps here:

HOW TO: Troubleshoot Situations Where You Cannot Complete MSN Sign-up or
Connect to SSL Secured (128-Bit) Web Sites by Using Internet Explorer in
Windows XP
