Add or Remove Programs screen is blank

I am running XP with all the latest updates. All my programs are
working fine. But when I went to my Settings\Add or Remove Programs, I
find that it is blank. Nothing appears and the "Please wait while the
list is being populated remains" on permanently.

I looked on the internet and one advice was to go to regedit and see if
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall"
is blank. In my case, it is not blank.

Anything I can do to make Add or Remove Programs populate itself again?

Thanks.

Please ignore. A Reboot restored the screen and now it populates
correctly again.

I am having this same problem, however, mine does not seem to fix itself. I
cannot get any of the programs to appear. Rather it just seems to "freeze"
up on me. Anybody have any suggestions . . . PLEASE!?!?

I'm having the same problem, too. And it all started after I loaded Office
2007 last month. I haven't seen any programs in the Add or Remove Programs
screen since then, even when I unclick the updates box. What to do?

same here. any solution been found. Mine shows the first few programs, but
that all. If I select the last one it clears the entire screen.

Thanks
