"Add or Remove Programs": Any Way To Hide Microsoft Updates?

When I do Control Panel\Add or Remove Programs, I get a list that
includes about a zillion "Security Update for XP" and "XP Hotfix"
programs, making it harder and harder to scroll thru the entire list for
the particular application I'm looking for.

Is there any way to hide these (without actually uninstalling them), so
that the list shown in "Add or Remove Programs" only shows the "real"
applications, the ones I've purchased and installed manually?

In add remove programs remove check mark from show updates, at the top.
