I previously had installed an add-in tex4ppt: the toolbar had disappeared and
I hoped that reinstallation would make it reappear. However, although
powerpoint is making use of the add-in in rendering equations I can find no
toolbar or buttons for it, and it doesn't list it as an available add-in.

Many thanks for your help.

How about if you go to View/Toolbars? Is it listed there? If so, select it
to turn the toolbar on.

no - it isn't visible on the toolbars, BTW it is office 2003
Thanks

Have you asked the provider of the add in? If not that is where I would
start.

No response as yet - but I know the add in installs without problem on a
system which has not had it installed previously.
Thanks

The problem has been isolated to a corrupt user profile.

Thanks for letting us know.

For future reference, how did you go about determining this?
Specifically, is there an easier way of doing it than creating a new user on
the computer (which might entail having to re-install software etc.)?

I created a new user profile, and found the add-in then worked. Have not yet
found a way of repairing the old profile.

That seems easy enough, then. Thanks!
