I use some add-ins from other users ( from net )
They work great but (one main used one) will not "auto load" even though I
have it check marked on the add-in list.

I also just made up two add-ins myself. Works great on my computer.
Went to install them on other computers.
Set Macros to "medium".
Opened add-in on other computer.
Saved as add-in
Check marked the new add-in
Closed Excel
Opened Excel - Menu item does NOT auto-load.
OPEN .xla file and it Does add in new menu.

I shortly need to send these add-ins to our international salemen, so I'm
trying to get all the bugs out by trying installs on different computers in
house.

Am I overlooking an installation step?

Thanks in advance.

Not that what you're doing shouldn't work but when it comes to my add-ins I
don't bother with Tools, Add-ins. I just put them in my XLSTART folder
along with my Personal.xls. I've never had a problem with this as they all
get opened and the auto macros run. Fwiw.

Add-ins ignore security settings. It is assumed they are OK.
Opened add-in on other computer.

How did you open?
Saved as add-in

How did you save as add-in?

Create a workbook with the macros then Save As>File Type>Microsoft Excel
Add-in(*.xla). Scroll to bottom of file type list box to find it.
Check marked the new add-in
Closed Excel
Opened Excel - Menu item does NOT auto-load.
OPEN .xla file and it Does add in new menu.

Might still think it is a workbook if not saved properly. Can't just change
the .XLS to to .XLA and make it an add-in. See above for saving as add-in.

Am I overlooking an installation step?

Thanks in advance.
