Add autonumber with Make Table query

Hi,

I've created a make-table query in Access & want to add an autonumber, but i
can't work out the right wording to put in the column to get it.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

With a Make Table query, you get what Access offers.

An alternate approach is to create a new table definition that already has
your Autonumber field, and all the others defined just the way you want
them, then use an APPEND query to "load" the table.

Hiya,

Thanks -that is my back-up option, but on a monthly basis I need all the
data cleared out & fresh data loaded so would have to run a delete query as
well.
It would be nice if there was a way to do it in one step....

Thanks

If this were mine, I'd create the delete query to clean it out, the append
query to load it up, and a macro (or procedure) that ran both queries.

Good luck!
