Phil said:Sure can, My neighbor received a Word Perfect attachment (WPD extension)
which he can not open. He has Word but not Word Perfect.
I was able to open the file for him in XP by associating the WPD
extension with Word. Can't find where to do this in Vista.

WPD extension is not on the list. I don't see any way to add it and
associated it with a program as in XP.

Dave said:right-click on a file with the .wpd extension, select "Open with..."
if Word is not on the list, select
"Choose default program"
click on "Browse"
go to
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11 (or wherever his version is
located)
and select Winword.exe
make sure the box is checked for "Always use the selected program to open
this kind of file"
