What operating system is the domain controller running? What operating
system is the workstation running? Were you ever able to join this
computer to the domain before or is this a new machine? Did you create
the user account and password on the server first?

Here are a few links that a Google search for "no mapping between
account name and security id's was done" produced. If they don't help
you, post in a server group such as:

microsoft.public.windows.server.general

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/890737
http://www.chicagotech.net/troubleshooting/nomapping1.htm

You can also run the Google search yourself and see if some of the other
links look applicable.
