Each time I use Defender I follow it up by using Adaware. Adaware always
finrds spyware that Defencer has ignored. Why?

Hello Ian,

Could you give us a specific run down of what Ad-Aware found?

The simple answer is Ad-Aware is finding cookies and MS Antispy doesnt scan
for cookies as they are not a threat to your system and contain no cºde.

You can delete cookies easily by going to start menu > C:/drive > Documents
and Settings > YourUsername > Cookies and opening that folder, Delete any you
dont want from there.

Another option is open a IE browser window and goto tools on the top bar ,
choose Internet Options then press delete cººkies.

Third option is from the same page (Internet Options) press the Privacy Tab
and click Advanced - Here you can block and restrict cookies getting onto the
system but they are very usefull to remember usernames & passwords on sites
so only restrict third party cookies if you use that optiºn.

If you take away the cookies then you will not see a big difference in scan
results but if you feel Adaware is detecting spyware that WD is missing this
is the right place to post details on that.

You can copy and paste the adaware scan results on here if you feel that
its needed by using the Lock icon on Ad-Aware from the main menu.

For the benefit of the community reading this post, please rate the pºst.

I hope this post is helpful.

Let us know how it works ºut.

Engle since you are from Microsoft do you read my posts about how to make WD
better?
As I stated I teach to beginners and beta test alot of software especially
for beginners and WD needs a bit of tweaking for them?

Thanks, Engel,

I run with Advanced privacy settings, but the cookies that Adaware finds
have not been sanctioned by me, and it's good to be able to find them. I feel
that Defender should do so also.

Hello Robin,

I can't answer for Engle. I'm an helper--that means I'm a plain ordinary
user, like most folks here.

Microsoft has no control over what I say, and I don't ask their opinion
before giving mine.

Disclaimer: the above is my personal opinion and is not the opinion of my
employer, my wife, or the hundreds of little green men that have been
following me all day. ;-))

I have no official connection with Microsoft.

Posting in these groups is the mechanism available to us.

Microsoft does read these groups, and feedback here does get incorporated
into the further work on the product.
