ADAM: Uninstallable?

Is Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) uninstallable with Vista? I'm
running build 5728 and ADAM is failing to install.

I'm getting an error message:

Active Directory could not create the directory partition
CN=Configuration,CN={C09C8499-BF06-41DA-867A-0029323C7838} on the local
directory service. Ensure that this name is unique.
Error code: 0x8007001f

Its most assuredly not officially supported by Microsoft.

Did you try running the installer with admin rights?

Yes,
I tried running it with Admin rights and with UAC off.

No joy.

So is Microsoft going to ever support ADAM on Vista? Are they going to
release a version of ADAM that works on Vista? Could be a show stopper for
us. What about the Longhorn version of Windows Server? Will it support ADAM?
Is this an Active Directory thing in that AD, including ADAM,
implementations will only work on the Server OS?
