AD Domainprep

I am trying to run Forestprep and domainprep, in order to
install exchange 2003. I have added a brandnew server
with win2003 server on it, into my windows 2000 native-
mode, domain, when I try to run either ADprep tool, I get
a message: "cannot contact AD,make sure that both Schema
master and computer have the same preffered DNS server.
failed to lookup what site the computer belongs to. The
computer showsup in computer users and computers, and DNS
has the entries for it. I ran DCdiag and netdiag
allchema/AD tests passed. The only failure was a Keberos
ticket. The time between all master role computers,new
server , and preffered DNS server are within 2 minutes of
each other.

Have you tried running the preps on the server hosting the Schema?
