AD backup Basic Questions

All, Kinda of baby to AD.

A. If I have four Domain controllers do I have to backup
all of them? Is it right they are only using one database.

B. I have no tape in all my DC, any other options for me I
have Veritas Remote Agent will it help?

C. Do you recommend backing up the system state of all my
DC using a file as a destination and copy it somewhere
using NTbackup? Since dont have external media. What is
the disadavantages.
