ad-aware process remains after closing

Hi
Im on Windows XP Home SP2.
When i start up ad-aware, and close it, the adaware.exe process will remain,
and max out the CPU. Has anyone else experienced this? I end up having to
kill the process manually from Task manager.
I also get similar problems with few other freeware apps.

Thanks

I am using v 1.04, have for some time now
"Special Edition Professional"

Have had no problems with it, other than it takes forever.

Find something else to do and let AdAware do its thing. You
won't regret it.

Good luck!

When he's shut down AdAware, it's because it's already done its thing. He's
correct in saying that it should not leave a process running at that point.
Mine does not. Something's wrong.

The latest version of adaware is 1.06:
http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/
You can install this latest version to identify if the process will be not
present when you close this application

Hiya

I am using the latest version of ad-aware.
However, it did not matter which version i used, they all did the same thing.
Soon as i closed the app... the process remains... and it just doesnt
remain.. it max's out the CPU..leaving the computer running super slow. So i
end up killing the process from task manager. This also happens with
Virtualdub.
However, this seems to be happening to me only... everyone i have asked
seems to be ok. Im lost as to why this is happening.
Thanks
