Hi Stu
Talking of Adaware. Have you guys read this?
http://www.rootkit.com/newsread.php?newsid=471

Well, Adaware has for sure cleaned thousends of junk PCs... ;)

It has problems as all antispyware apps with todays more complicated
mixture from the bad guys.

Beta testing for Adaware 2006 is running:
http://www.lavasoftresearch.com/betaprogram/register.php

I also really likes Ewido 4.0, great Beta.

WD has problems and maybe MS didn´t understand that this is a 24/7
business to run.....

AutoUpdate, however, hasn't ever been compromised or even found to be
vulnerable by any researcher, as far as I can recall. This is one area of
vulnerability that I'm certain has been thought about.

Now I`m left wondering.

Lavasoft is very aware of this, I would quote a URL but don't want to
steer you in the wrong direction. I believe there is an announcement
at Lavasoft Support.com
For Randy. Just out of interest re the outcome of my question I posed you
awhile back. SpywareBlaster and IESpyAd`s restricted sites lists do not
conflict.

OK, Stu - and the source of this information is from where?
Had you contacted Eric L. Howes, as I has suggested.

My information is that there is a conflict, *but* I do not run IESpyAd and cannot
verify that as being true or false.

Randy

Ewido beta 4.0 is still buggy and has crashed some PC's. They are working on
a new build, or course, and improvements will come. Every vendor has
problems!

Hi Oldrebel

Well, within a swedish forum we are a "gang" running/discuss Ewido 4.0.

It was a some trouble for some of them but now all seems to be
satisfied. Better then WD ;)

Ewido must be "state of the art" just now for malware destruction.
I also likes the new analyse module.

I hope so, plun. I am just waiting for the next build of Ewido before I
reinstall, I have a license and am running 3.5 for now. I left you a PM at
their beta forum.

Hi again

The best is that WD and Ewido doesn´t interfere with each other.
I personally hate to staple protections but these 2 are "happy campers"
;) only to remember that and disable one protection if a malware hits
before removal.

Going to check your message.

Hi Plun

I thought my post would bring you out of hiding :) Where have you been -
lurking?

"It has problems as all antispyware apps with todays more complicated

Which is why Adaware 2006 will be even better - right?. Had to get a a new
email account because Lavasoft doesn`t like my Hotmail one for beta
registration. Wonder why that is? :)

Hi Stu

MSN/Hotmails spam filter is like a lottery....... ;)

Look in the junk box ;) No meaning to report it either, don´t
believe they read anything.

About lurking it´s more interresting to solve real spyware problems
then update problems ;) (within swedish forums)

Found AndyM in CCleaners forum, great "cleaning artist" ;)

Adaware 2006 must anyway be out soon ?

I can really recommend Ewido 4.0. (Wilders security has their official
forum)

Yes, and one has the capacity to receive 250MB of it. What an achievement
! :)

"About lurking it´s more interresting to solve real spyware problems

Agreed. While I visit these newsgroups with some regularity. Subject matter
now centres almost entirely around the udate issue. Not altogether surprising
as they,(MS), clearly have problems and the developers need all the help they
can get. That`s progress for you. Or, is it? :)

"Found AndyM in CCleaners forum, great "cleaning artist" ;)

Andy or Ccleaner? :)

There is a guy who I developed a healthy respect for in the AS field. I know
from an email I recieved from him some time ago, he was `stepping back from
things` for a while. Nice to hear he is up, running and available !

Regards

Stu
