Very interesting, looks like LS has bowed to public outcry to continue support for the
"SE" build.

Not really. It was known that they would continue to "support" [i.e.
provide updates for] the "paid for" versions of SE at least till they get
their "enterprise" [or whatever it's called] version ready. The paid
versions will still update thru the UI. The problem is their cutting off
access to those same updates for the free version, which most people use.
The link at the bottom of the Calendar of Updates page [I just love those
folks] was not provided by Lavasoft but by "ourstanley". I did a cursory
browse of the Lavasoft site and found no mention of it.
