Active X..what is that?

I am not able to access the msn chat rooms for example
because it says that Active x is preventing me from doing
so....how do I deactivate this...if someone knows the
answer ...please help...PS: I have windows xp. Thanks
 
You're not reading the messages properly. You need to enable ActiveX
controls in order for it to work.
Tools/Internet Options/Security/Custom Level ....change all the ActiveX
settings that are currently on "Disable" to "Prompt" (or "Enable" if you're
that brave but I wouldn't recommend it).
 
There is no need to open up the entire Internet zone to service one chat
site. Put the problem site in the Trusted zone. Leave the Internet zone
with activex disabled or on prompt.

gives you a new menu item to toss the current page web site in the
Trusted or Restricted zone.
