Active Directrory and Open Directory

Valentik

Hello,

I have 20 Mac users and 70 Win users. I will install a Windows 2000
Active Directory with with Exchange 2000 next week.

Today, I have three xserve and I have a LDAP open directory configured
for Mac users.

I will have next week two LDAP organisations (Open Directory and Active
Directory). I want to have only one. What are the solutions ?

1. Create a synchronisation between OD and AD?
2. All the users will connect on AD ? in this case, what are the
problems for accessing to the shares?
3. Other???

Thanks a lot to everybody for your comments.

Bye.

Hi Valentino!

Have you looked at this PDF on Apple's site

With so few users, I don't think synchronization would be cost effective,
there aren't many free tools available that don't require a lot of
customization. I'd consolidate down to just AD. Any special attributes
could be added to the AD schema. Panther's AD plug-in even addresses most
of the schema changes required by Jaguar.
