I want to set an image \\server\apps\desktop.jpg to all
machines on network.

I have in GPO:
enable active desktop
disable all items
enable active desktop wallpaper (to path above)
disabled allow only bitmapped wallpaper

the image is listed in background but is not
displayed...why not?

Pete-

I'm inclined to believe that the JPEG actually needs to reside locally on
the machine. Try copying it to one of the machines (put it in %Windir%), and
set the GPO to the filename of the jpeg. You actually don't need active
desktop enabled for jpeg wallpaper in 2000/xp. I'd recommend not using
active desktop if you don't need it for some other purpose.
