Hi All
Have noticed that the activation feature is no longer visible (where it was
previously) in the (start/all programs/accessories/systems tools) area after
performing 2 successful repair installs 2 days apart. Have also performed a
clean install many months earlier.
I am concerned that if I need to use the activtion function again in the
future would it be again available for me in the event I need to clean
install/repair install etc. again.
Appreciate any helpful info for future reference.
I am original owner of Dell Inspiron 4000 with Windows ME upgraded to
Windows XP Home with all original disks. (all legal).
Thank you.

Repair installations don't require reactivation,if another "clean
installation"
is done,activate/register windows xp will resurface automatically.

Try repairing the registry entries for the .DLL files used by
activation:

Use Start- Run and enter the following text in the dialog box:
regsvr32.exe regwizc.dll

Then do it again with the following text:
regsvr32.exe licdll.dll

Launch activation manually:
%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /A

Good luck
