Activating Microsoft Office 2003

I just got a new laptop that included a trial version of Microsoft Office 2003 Student and Teacher Edition. I have the product key to convert it to a full version, but the problem is that when I do put the product key in it says that I need the following file: PA561401.CAB. It then instructs me to put in the cd, but I can't do so, since Office came pre-installed. After that it won't let me continue converting my trial version to a full version. What should I do to fix this? Any suggestions?

Since Office came preinstalled you should have received the installation cd
with your purchase. If you didn't, contact the vendor and ask them to
provide you what you paid for.

I only got an Operating System Cd, which is to install Windows XP, and a cd for Microsoft Woks, but I don't think the file that I need for Microsoft Word would be on those cds. Is there any possible way I can still activate Office without this file?

Contact the PC maker with this issue, since it seems to be (obviously) OEM
(original equipment manufacturer). I can almost assure you that your laptop
maker only offers software support for the first 30 days of ownership of the
laptop.

Hi,

Set folder options/view tab (in the control panel) to see hidden and system
files/folders. Then poke around for a folder named MSOcache, open it to this
folder:

D:\MSOCache\All Users\90000409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9

and you should find the cab you need. You will need to point the activation
scheme to it. If it does not exist, then you will need to locate or purchase
a copy of Office2003.

I contacted HP and they're sending me a Microsoft Office cd to finish the upgrade, and I should receive it within 3 days apparently. Thanks for everyone's replies!
