Yes, you must if you want to use XP after the time
has expired. This is part of the piracy prevention
built into the product, and something you have agreed
to by accepting the EULA.
The activation can be done by doing the following.
Navigate to Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools ->
Activate Windows.
