Acrobat Toolbar problems

V

Vayse

Today, I've seen this issue for the second time. User installs full version
of Adobe Acrobat.
Two issues then occur:

1) Customised menus will be empty. The menus will be be there, but when you
click on a menu, it doesn't expand.

2) User get "You do not have exclusive access to the database at this time"
error message. On mde frontend.
The Adobe toolbar will appear in all office documents, I reckon this is the
toolbar trying to change the database

If the user closes the database, and then does File/Open for the same
database again, the problem goes away.

Anyone else get this issue? Is there a way around it? Without removing Adobe
preferably.

Thanks
Vayse

Hello Vayse,

It seems the compatible issue between Acrobat and Access. During the
installation of Acrobat, you can select Custom Install, and select which
programs you want to use PDFMaker. If you de-selected Access, and the
problem shall go away. The following link might be helpful

It is the PDFMaker Office Addin!

Set the registry value of the key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MASCHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\ACCESS\Addins\PDFMaker.OfficeAddin
LoadBehavior

from 3 to 0

To disconnect the Addin. The Addin need a exclusive access to the DB to
insert the PDF Toolbar.
