ACPI error and Socket 7 Motherboard compatible with XP

Please help,

I have acpi errors that send machine into auto reboot. This happens in
unpredictable times and is quite annoying. I know that I can turn off
the autoreboot but don't think this will resolve ultimate issue. It is
my understanding that I will then get BSOD. I have amd K6-3/400
processor in FIC vA-503+ motherboard. FIC says will not have bios
upgrade to resolve the problem on this board. Many baby AT socket 7
boards are no longer available. Aside from obvious answer to buy a new,
quicker, faster, better computer can any provide a suggestion to resolve
this problem.

One possible fix is to find a compatible motherboard, using XP catalog
is a nightmare and can't find supported older stuff. I know there are
some good, Xp compatible socket 7 boards out there. Can someone
recommend a board and / or a possible supplier to purchase said board from.

By the way, I just upgraded to XP from 98SE, lost soundcard capability also.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Gary

Replace motherboard and K6 at the same time. I have one that is sitting in
the closet. Celerons are faster. Jym
