So here's the story; the computer is six

You won't get much help in this .NET programming discussion group. You need
to post in a Windows XP group. Here's how to find one.

As you appear to be using a web interface, start here:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx

In the tree on the left, first open the English category, then open Windows.
In Windows, find and open the Windows XP category. There, locate a group
to post in.
