Accumulating ~wrl temp files

I have accumulated 193 ~wrl temp files totaling over 24 mb in disk space. I
realized this when I noticed a folder with files totaling 822 kb in size
showing an actual total size of over 5 mb. I have researched the issue on
the Internet, including the often-sited Microsoft article (211632) and have
been unable to find a solution to my problem. Word opens and closes
properly, yet the ~wrl files remain. I would appreciate any help on how to
get windows or office to correctly delete these files. I do not want to have
to manually delete these ~wrl files every couple of weeks.

You might want to google for answers related to "SMB packet signing," as I
believe that was the term for the issue that (perhaps among others) was
causing this problem (perhaps only on one version of Windows Server).
