Accidentally selected "Hidden Files" in Win Explr - lost desktop i

How do I re-display the icons on my desktop when I accidentally hid the files
in Windows Explorer (Right click then Properties then General)? No easy way
to find this out? Please help.

Try this: Right click on the empty desktop. on the menu that appears choose
"Arrange Icons By" > Show Desktop Icons.

It will help if you could see your hidden files so you can uncheck their
hidden attributes. So, to do this, open any folder and on the menu select
TOOLS/FOLDER OPTIONS/VIEW. Now check-box SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS. Now
you will see your hidden files on the desktop. Now just right
click/PROPERTIES and uncheck HIDDEN. You can now go back to your folder
options and uncheck SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS.
