Accidental deletion

Not if you have closed the document (in which case CTRL+Z) or unless you
have a backup.

I think Graham means that if you *haven't* closed the document, you can use
Ctrl+Z (Undo) to reverse your disastrous action, but this is not possible if
the document has been saved and closed. If you closed without saving, then
you will have lost any edits in the previous session but still have the
whole paper.
