My laptop harddisk (HD) crashed and it will not boot anymore (windows
XP starts, but then hangs before I get the logon screen). Some system
files seems to be correpted, so before I reinstall XP I wanted to back
my files.

I have hooked up the laptop HD to my desktop pc (also running Windows
XP Home Edition) as a slave drive. My desktop system has recognized
the laptop HD and I can see and access all files, except for the ones
in my private "Documents and Setting" folder. The error "access
denied" is returned when I double click this personal folder. When the
HD was in my laptop I set up a logon password.

Here is my question: how do can I access the personal folder, in order
to back up my files?

Thanks for any information,
Michael
