Accessing Macros defined in Add-In

I am having problems assigning a macro I have created and saved in a
add-in to a custom button or menu item.

I have created a macro and have saved the file as a .xla file.
I then went to Tools - Add-In and selected the file that I had jus
saved.

I then choose Tools - Customise and dragged a custom menu item onto th
toolbar.

When I try and assign a Macro to it, I cannot see the macro from th
add-in.

I have set the security to medium throughout all of the above.

Can anyone explain why this doesn't work ?

Macros in add-ins do not show up in the Macros list.

Just type the name of the the Sub into the List Box.
