Accessing Hotmail Using Outlook 2003

I have recently upgraded my Outlook to Outlook 2003
(Windows XP) to ensure ease in receiving my POP3 email and
hotmail account in a single location. However, I
constantly face problems when downloading my emails from
Hotmail gving me the error "0x80004005 - Outlook's request
to the server failed. The server responded".

Can someone please advise me how to have a smooth
transition and download my hotmail emails with greater
ease?
