accessing a DOS based program

I own a commercial FM radio station which I have
successfully accessed by a direct remote dialup using
CoSession 7.1d. (not an internet connection)
The host broadcast computer can only accept a DOS
program.
Problem--With other windows programs I was able to
assign an icon on my remote lap top which would
lead to the operation of DOS-based CoSession 7.1d.
Now that I have a new lap top with XP, I can't figure out
if it is possible to access a DOS program from Windows XP
home edition.
The company that handles CoSession makes a Windows
based program now but it would serve me no purpose
since my host computer can not accept Windows based
programs.
Help! Thanks.

I've got some news that could be good or bad: you might, or might
not, be able to get your program to work. Face it, you are using a
DOS based program, and XP DOESN'T CONTAIN ANY DOS CODE! Sorry about
yelling that last part, but it's important to note.

Oh, XP does have a command line interface window. It looks like the
old DOS box, accepts many old "DOS" commands, and will run many DOS
programs, but many DOS programs won't run there.

I don't know if your CoSession software will work - but start getting
used to the idea that it may never work under XP.
