Is there a work around or fix for this....

Using Access97, Searching using a Wildcard.
Runtime error 5:
"Invalid procedure call or argument"

KB Article 259738 talks about it for Win2K but I was
wondering if there were any changes for XP.

Thanks for that but actually since this does work with
WinNT and there is a KB article (as stated below) stating
that this is a known problem with Win2K, I wouldn't be too
quick to point the problem strictly on Access. My question
is that since it's a know issue with Win2K, is there a fix
or workaround known for WinXP?

KB259738 offers a fix for Windows 2000 and there are a lot of
similarities to windows xp. Did you try the fix with win xp. Maybe
you can copy and paste the main body of the code.

I don't know for sure, but considering how long it took to get
Master Documents fixed in Word, trying the win2k fix is probably best.

I notice on microsoft.public.office.setup there are issues with
Office 97 and SP2 for Windows Xp.

I notice the syntax for a wildcard search in Access 97 is tricky:

Like [Enter Name] & "*"

Probably best to post the same question to a MS Office or Access
group. The folks who hang out in the MS Office groups are very
knowledgeable and should be able to answer your question if an answer
is known.
