Access2003, combo box will not save selected value

I had no trouble using Access 2000 pro, now in Access 2003 this does not work
 
With some details, you may get some help. There is no problem with the combo
in 2003. I have code that been used in 87, 2000, and 2003 with no problem
and I am having no problem with new code.
