Access XP - Outlook 2003

David French

I have a mini Access database I created in Access 2000.
Nothing special...a couple tables a form and a macro that sends a report via
e-mail.
This Windows 2000 computer now has Office XP Pro and Outlook 2003.
Now the SendObject macro will not send the e-mail.

Is this due to the version difference with Outlook 2003?

Any ideas of how to make it work again...besides installling ALL of Office
2003?

Thanks for the pointer Sue.
It was apparently either re-installing Outlook 2003 or the macro security
level in Outlook.
First I did a re-install and at the same time I changed the macro level to
low.
Attempted the macro again and it was fine. Then I changed the macro
security level back to medium and it STILL worked.
OH well. As long as it works!

Hi Dave,

Thanks for posting here. And thanks Sue for sharing great info. I am glad
you can now send mail by SendObject macro action.

For your information, I would like to provide additional information.

Based on my knowledge, the issue happens when you apply the Microsoft
Outlook E-mail Security Update, which provides additional levels of
protection against malicious e-mail messages. The Outlook E-mail Security
Update changes the way that attachments are handled by Outlook and the way
that Outlook can be controlled programmatically.

To work around this problem, you can customize the behavior of the Outlook
E-mail Security Update. You can customize the behavior only if you are
running Outlook in a Microsoft Exchange Server environment, and your e-mail
messages are delivered to a server-based mailbox. More info here:

Hope this helps. If there is anything unclear, feel free to let me know.
Thanks!
