Access workgroup file when migrating to XP

My department is currently in the process of migrating to
Windows XP platform w/ Office XP. We are worried that it
might affect the default security (workgroup) file on the
systems. So far most of our applications tested have its
own security file stored in the folder and will refer to
it when opening up the databases application. But we are
seeing that for ones that don't, it will still prompt you
for userid and password, possibly refering to the system
workgroup file. Is there a way to resolve the issue?
