Access won't open any database -'file already in use'

On a system that has operated as expected until two days ago, MS Access has
stopped opening any databases. These databases are located on network
drives, and they can be opened normally from a different system on the
network. Both systems use Windows 2000 service pack 4. Boht have the same
Access 2003 version.

I would appreciate any recommendations for recovery.
Thanks

Yes, when I am logged in under the same user name on a different system on
the same network, I cna open the databases. ON the sytem where I can't open
any database (not even a new one), I am getting the message 'Could not open
'Admin', file already in use.'
Thanks for your assistance

Thanks for your response. Yes, I can open the databases when I am logged in
with the same user name on a different workstation. On the one workstation
that doesn't succeed, when I start access and select a database (even a
'blank database'), the message I see is 'Could not use 'Admin'; file already
in use.'.

Thanks

Sounds like someone has SYSTEM.MDW (or whatever workgroup file you're
using) locked up.
