The Monarch I know is a mainframe reporting application.

What is Monarch 5.02? I've never heard of it.
The Monarch I know is a PC based application that lets you build rather
complex reports from basically text files and vice versa.
You can convert text invoices, with header, line item information to a
flat file with minimum effort.

Hi Doug,

Further to what Mike and Joe said: Monarch is a report data
mining tool. It's been around since DOS days and is bloody
good for extracting text from reports. I used it years ago
to get mainframe line printer style text files of parts and
assembly lists into a format suitable for import to Access
(stripping page nos, headers, footers, dates and so on).

I believe this is the web site
http://www.datawatch.com/

I'm not sure this is what the OP is referring to, also
sounds like a serial number beg... Also looks like Monarch
is up to v8...
