Access unable to import fom Excel

When I attempt to import an Excel spreadsheet of names and
addresses (in list format) Access does not seem to receive
them. In the past when it worked successfully, I would
get a query about whether the "first row is a header
row". This query no longer appears and there is no new
database created. Can anyone help me out?

How are you doing this? Via VBA? Can you post the code?

Ken, Thank you for your offer to help. After posting my
query, I studied earlier posts on similar questions and
followed an advice to look at MS Knowledge Base Q292269.
Following those instructions to register Accwiz.dll seems
to have cured the problem. But I am curious why this item
suddenly failed? Random mutations? It seems to be a
common problem. Thanks again for your offer to help.

DLL failures are common < shrug > as you found by searching previous posts.
It seems to be "one of those things". Glad you found the answer.
